微软年度大会MIX09，有两个来自中国的公司参与分会场的演讲，分别是来自腾讯的首席架构师郑全战博士介绍腾讯的基于Silverlight 版本的 QQ，以及来自 NXMIX 公司的创始人及技术创意总监李超来介绍由NXMIX 参与设计并且在 MIX09 中即将发布的 DeepZoomPIX。
腾讯的演讲者是Steven博士，主题是：Scaling a Rich Client to Half a Billion Users ，并演示了使用Silverlight技术实现的QQ。有意思的是，在演示的时候，还现场和马化腾聊天，steven对pony说”say hello to everyone“，pony回答是”????”，引来听众席一阵哄笑。
大会演示版本比现在对外的版本功能要强很多，steven演示的时候也说”This is much better than current version“。
